Hola! Happy Thursday to you! I hope you're having good week.
I thought I'd pop in for a quick hello and show you a few pretty things that came my way recently.
A few weeks ago, my friend Linda, from Itsy Bits and Pieces, sent me something wonderful. Look at these pictures...can you guess what it was? If you know Linda, you know the answer. Those sunshiny yellow roses? Nope, that was something I got from myself. The cafe au lait bowls? Noooo...you've seen those plenty of times. That only leaves those little tidbits of vintage goodness...just the sort of thing I love to photograph. There's actually a bit more than you see here, but I'm saving those for another group of pictures :)
Getting that package was such a ray of happiness in my day! I've been feeling a like a total Debbie Downer lately and to have someone think of me really brightened my spirits. Thanks, Linda :)
For whatever reason, old weathered wood just calls my name...it's the natural earthiness or the texture or something.
I saw a vintage chicken carrier at a shop near me the other day. I keep thinking about it...old wood with a pretty patina. I'm wondering what I could do with it though, besides just having it sit there. I kind of like for things to be useful, especially if it's something big. Any thoughts?
So long for now!
xo
I'm sharing my post at:

beautiful items and gorgeous photos. thanks for sharing tricia!
ReplyDeleteLOVE this beautiful pictures:) You give me so much inspiration, thank you Tricia <3
ReplyDeleteHugs from Vibeke
Beautiful as always, Tricia. Hope you are doing well....sorry about "Debbie". Take care and have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteTiffany
Such breathtaking photography! I say get the carrier :) I want to see it!
ReplyDeleteYour lovely shots always inspire me to try more styled shots instead of my off the cuff type photos. I have such a weakness for any type of wood crates or totes so I'm the wrong one to ask about the chicken crate! I'm sure I'd figure something out to do with it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visual treats. I never knew that old wooden clothespins could be so lovely to look at. You've got the eye, girl!
ReplyDeleteOH, Tricia...you made these goodies look SO beautiful! I knew you would...I am so glad you liked them!
ReplyDeleteWhat a very sweet gift! Getting something in the mail always lifts my spirits! You took some lovely pictures, as always.
ReplyDeleteI think you should go back for the carrier. Sometimes you just have to look at things for awhile to get inspiration. I bet you could find a way to incorporate it into a fall vignette!
XO,
Jane
Lovely pictures you too took with your new goodies! Love how you tied the clothes pins together with the matching string! Just lovely!
ReplyDeleteDebbie

ReplyDeleteAnd you knew just what to do with them!
Each of these photographs is just beautiful.

ReplyDeleteO I just love....I love your pretty yellow flowers....and I adore the clothes pins....Just pretty...have a lovely afternoon..with love Janice
ReplyDeleteLovely images of the gifts from your friend and yourself!
ReplyDeleteA chicken carrier - you could always buy it first and press it into service later, they don't turn up that often!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots - those are lovely yellow roses. And what a lovely gift to receive. Thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteLove the clothes pins...they have such vintage appeal. The photos are lovely. The chicken coop sounds fun, but I know what you mean about having a use.
ReplyDeleteYou could rotate vignettes in the chicken carrier I guess. I love your photography!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Your photos are just magical! Love your style. Not sure what you could use the old chicken coup for, but I'd buy it anyway! You could photograph it for us. That's useful, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteSo great tones ... wonderful pictures ... LOVE IT !
ReplyDeleteHow sweet of your friend! As usual you have created something so beautiful out of all the little treasures you put together.
ReplyDeleteAll that yellow does brighten up your day doesn't it?! Along with a treat from a dear friend.
Have a lovely weekend!!
Deborah xoxo
Old wood and vintage lace and threads, delightful (so are the roses!)
ReplyDeleteThe chicken carrier may work well with a potted plant sitting in it??

I just love how you take pretty flowers, old wood and some colorful twine and present us with a beautiful vignette. How sweet of Linda to send you something she knows you love. Happy Fall!!
ReplyDeleteHello Tricia, your photos are simply amazing, again! Love the yellow flowers with the wood. So pretty. I hope you're feeling better and not feeling like Debbie Downer anymore. Sending you a hug...xoxox
ReplyDeleteI always get happy when I see a new post of yours on my side bar. I know I'm in for a treat with your gorgeous photos. I am the worst at buying thing unless I know I have a purpose for them. Sometimes I wish I could just let go and buy something pretty or cool for no reason at all.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are so beautiful and what a wonderful gift you received from your friend..
Hugs~
I love old weathered wood as well and you've made the clothespins look so lovely here with the roses and bright background. The photos make me think of the sunshine we enjoy these very last days of summer... and the warmer things we look forward to the beginning of autumn. What a wonderful gift!
ReplyDeleteIt is really nice to have blogger friends! How sweet is that!

Your country chic is so ...chic! ;-) Beautiful, Tricia!
ReplyDeleteHI Tricia,
ReplyDeleteLovely images. The yellow is so pretty. When I buy flowers for my house, I always get yellow or white flowers. Don't know why...
Happy Fall.
Through blogging I
ReplyDeletehave become "real life"
friends with sweet Linda,
so no surprise that she
would bestow the perfect
gift upon you....it's so HER
and the gifts are so YOU : )
I agree with you about the
coop; I am at a point where
I want things that take up
"real estate" in my home to
have a purpose. That said,
sometimes the purpose is
just to make us happy!
Happy Monday,
xo Suzanne
Gosh, that is all so pretty! I can't resist yellow.
ReplyDeleteXO,
Anne
